FLIGHT 18? … I remember …

Dear Passengers,

Feel free to leave here all questions, comments, observations or snide remarks regarding the maiden voyage of FLIGHT 18. If you embarked on one of our twenty-nine flights, then please take a moment to share with us a memory or two.

Use the prompt, “I remember …” or you can do whatever you want.

With love and gratitude,

I remember the beautiful flight attendants that held my hand when things got scary.

I remember the mass confusion caused by the plainclothes frequent fliers, the amazing rooms, and the space cookies.

I remember when a large man embraced me into a huge bear hug and cried on my shoulder because, he said, he finally felt like he was a part of something real.

when upstairs the guy in black shorts (good) asked what I will do when I die. I said “when i’m 84 i’ll get another dog, so when I die at 105, my dog can come with me”, he gave me a card that said dog+21. Amazing

I remember that I wished I was more stoned. And the music kicked ass!

I’ve been trying to describe this show for weeks and it’s completely impossible. This show cannot be described only experienced. It’s like nothing I’ve ever seen before. It makes all other theater seem passive. AMAZING.

I remember the moment when it all made sense. I also remember feeling a little too comfortable in that one room in the earth simulator.

What a wonderful show. I came twice, wish I could have come again. This was one of the best evenings of theater I have ever experienced. … The surprise. The invitation to participate without feeling forced. I told some jokes. Danced. Takeoff.

I remember making out in one of the upstairs rooms with my girlfriend and a crew member told us to get a room … and I said, I already did … can’t wait for the next flight!

I remember playing balloon volleyball with several small children and babies and a naked woman and feeling that this felt very different – and righter! – than the world outside the theater space.

I remember thinking the actors need to have a lot of courage to try and deliver this powerful message, that some of the limitations and confinements we challenge ourselves with are self imposed … at least that’s the message I got. The show was great and I was glad to be part of it.

I remember letting my emotions and fears leave my body as we flew to outer space, experiencing a degree of freedom unlike any I’ve felt in a long time. I highly encourage everyone to experience it for themselves as Flight 18 cannot be described, explained, or understood by any other means.
