RACHEL KANN (Cruise Director TEDx Poet Rachel Kann is a modern-day mystic: irreverently reverent and exuberantly human.  She’s a Write Club Los Angeles champ and resident writer for Hevria.  Her poetry has been featured on Morning Becomes Eclectic on NPR and as The Weather on the podcast phenomenon, Welcome to Night Vale.  Rachel has performed her poetry with artists and leaders such as daKAH Hip Hop Orchestra, Marianne Williamson, Sage Francis, Saul Williams, and Rahzel, at venues such as Disney Concert Hall, Royce Hall, The Broad Stage, The San Francisco Palace of Fine Arts, and the Vans Warped Tour, as well as spiritual and sacred spaces like Jewlicious Fest X aboard The Queen Mary, Agape Spiritual Center and Sinai Temple.  She is also Reiki Master, Jewish Energy Healer, an initiated Tzovah through Kohenet. a shaman apprentice and DJ. https://realizeparadise.com/

SHOKO TAMAI (FLIGHT Attendant) Artistic Director of Ninja Ballet & Choreographer & Dancer Shoko Tamai is a classically trained ballet dancer who has performed with leading dance companies in various venues around the world. Since she was two years old Shoko has studied various dance styles, including ballet, classical Japanese and Chinese dance, jazz fusion, African, Middle Eastern and Indian dance. Shoko’s period of study with Jamie H.J. Guan, martial arts trainer for the Beijing Opera, initially ignited in her a burning passion for martial arts. Shoko has studied at the Central School of Ballet (London, UK), The American Academy of Ballet (NYC), The Paris Opera (France), and The Madrid Ballet School (Spain). She has performed with many dance companies, including Dance Theater of Harlem, Tokyo Ballet, and Cirque du Soleil. https://www.ninjaballet.com

STEVEN McMULLEN (Boatswain) From The Bronx to
Broadway, from hip-hop to gospel, Steven has been an audio engineer since 1976.  A graduate of the Center for Media Arts and a member of The Paradise Garage, he has worked with artists such as Mary J Bilge, Puffy, Roberta Flack, Kool and the Gang, just to name a few.  He also manned the sound for FLIGHT18’s Maiden Voyage and Cosmic Joyride.  Recently he ran sound at the Minskoff Theater and the Apollo.

JASON ROGENES (Spaceship Construction) is an artist whose work has appeared around the world in international galleries and museums including The Whitney Museum, The New Museum of Contemporary Art New York, The Arm and Hammer Museum of Art in Los Angeles, and has been featured in Surface Magazine, The Los Angeles Times, Frieze and California Home and Design.

PETER SMITH (Light Designer)  Peter and Eric met in 1993. It was a good year.  They produced “Millesgarden” together and experimented with dancing zebras and authority figures.  Peter came to New York City in 2008 to rejoin Captain Wally and build the Spaceship Kaleidoscope and he’s been illuminating her ever since.

ERIC “WALLY” WALLACH (Captain) is an independent theatre artist who directs, writes, and produces live performance. Wally is always crossing the boundaries that divide the audience from the show, creating inclusive, audacious and joyful experiences. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Wally arrives to New York City in 1994 where he directs at La Mama E.T.C., Performance Space 122, The Culture Project, Chashama, Knitting Factory, HERE, Dixon Place and Bowery Poetry Club among others. He is the mother of new plays and musicals including MILLESGÅRDEN, THE DIDI PLAYS, THE JACK OF TARTS, THE BREASTS OF TIRESIAS and SUC DADDY. His articles and plays are available at The Brooklyn Rail and The BRIDGE Journal among others. He holds his BA in Theatre from San Diego State University and is a recipient of an Edward Albee Foundation Writing Fellowship. In his formative years, Wally worked closely with theatre greats such as Joseph Chaikin, Robert Wilson, Jack O’Brien and Penny Arcade. Wally is a teaching artist with Theatre Development Fund who sends him into middle school to college classrooms throughout the City. He also serves as co-director of Brooklyn Arts for Kids, bringing arts to young people.
